Palmira Beach
Palmira Beach (Peguera – Mallorca) is one of the largest beaches in the municipality of Calvià. Of the group of 3 beaches that cross the coastal area of Peguera, (Palmira, Torà, La Romana). Palmira’s beach is the biggest.
A beach promenade with palm trees defines this great sandy area situated parallel to the Boulevard of Peguera, the commercial centre of the town.
Palmira beach is ideal for all those looking for an “easy” and comfortable beach. It has all the basic services (showers, lifeguards, sun loungers, parasols, etc.) has enough space for all visitors, and just a few steps away, there is a wide choice of restaurants, shops, etc.
This beach is associated with the international triathlon event Challenge Peguera Mallorca. If its neighbouring Torà beach hosts the swimming event, the Palmira beach promenade is home to much of the running circuit.
Access by road is easy by just following the road signs. Private vehicles can be parked free of charge on the streets adjacent to the beach. The avenue of Peguera (Avenida de Peguera) leads to this sandy area. It is also possible to opt for public transport. The bus stops in the vicinity of the beach.
Its total exposure to the southeast, south and southwest winds makes it advisable for the navigator to anchor his or her boat during the day on a sandy bottom, at a depth ranging between three and five metres. The Santa Ponça marina is located 2.1 nautical miles away.
